Josh Decolongon is a San Francisco-based storyteller, producer and sommelier who pushes the boundaries of communication, flavor and culture.
Hi! I’m Josh. I’m currently channeling my love for digital storytelling as an audience engagement producer for KQED, the acclaimed PBS & NPR member station that serves Northern California. I also produce, edit and host KQED’s first vertical video food series called
“No Crumbs” where I explore the roots of Bay Area culture to find out what makes it tick, whether I investigate local urban food legends or sample signature neighborhood bites.
Originally having studied science and cognitive systems in Canada, I turned to the world of wine and spirits for its multidisciplinary nature: the fields of gastronomy, science, history and culture led me to a lifelong interest in the human experience through different lenses. After being one of the youngest in the country to become a certified sommelier and achieve the prestigious WSET diploma, I went on to cofound a VC-funded start-up called Endless West that crafts alcoholic beverages in the lab as its chief product officer.
My Filipino upbringing naturally allowed me to grow up in a culture of fusion, and I’m deeply curious about how the way we interact with tech, food and beverage shapes our world.
